Pat, My sympathy to you and your family with Ben's passing on. Louise always valued your life long friendship since you lived on the neighboring farm when we were kids. May you find peace and comfort in the midst of the love of your family. Linda

Wonderful to hear from you. FYI Main Street is now about 5 blocks long and center parking extends 6 blocks. The merchants have beautified our PR with flowers everywhere ... almost in every nook in cranny. Your parents home and building were still there as of a year ago. I forgot to note this time. I recall the special crazy fun times I stayed with you.
It is quite remarkable the remaining members of our class of '57 still gather. Each day is a gift as you well know. Sending love, Linda

Sandy Walsh, Marie Jorgensen and I also were at his memorial.  With the large number of people present it was apparent what an integral part Norm and Louise have been (and are) in their community.  The message in the funeral bulletin:        After Glow

I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.

I'd like to leave an aftergow of smiles when life is done.

I'd like to leave an echo whispering sofly down the ways.

Of happy times and laughing times and bright sunny days,

I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun

Of happy memories that I leave     When Life is done.

Can't you hear Norm, in a moment of seriouosness, saying just this.  Thanks Norm for one more smile.

I visited with Kay in transitional care a week before she departed.  I recounted a number of old fun HS stories.  She smiled remembering them.  I told her she was a special friend.  In a weak voice Kay said, "We were all special".  So like Kay!  Sadly and fondly remembered.   Linda Kirchmaier

Happy Birthday! Hope all is well and look forward to seeing you at our reunion next month. I will miss those who have made the great transition before us and marvel that the rest of us are still here. We have survived 77 years!!

Congrats in recieving the good new regarding your eye surgery which you have worked so hard to attain. I get it. Life is bleak without a purpose and not being able to send your gifts out into the world. Being blocked from doing what you value and that which feeds your inner being is really, really tough!!!!!

You will be missed. Keep us posted. Linda

Hi Fred,

It has been a while since we have communicated. Hey! Will you be in PR and at the reunion? Sure would be fun to connect again. Our numbers are dwindling way too fast so each one remaining becomes more precious. I have just read a number of classmate postings - fun to be updated.
My life remains active. My cancer has remained in remission for 4.5 years. Yeah! Deal with a number auto immune diseases and have found altenative methods and protocols to deal with them rathr than the strong drugs, however have not been able to fully conquer the chronic fatigue and the RA is slowing me down. These days I am into writing - I seem to have dropped into the literary world. Poetry groups, spiritual memoire, writing techniques and tips classes and book groups. Made a bunch of jewelry this past winter too. Plus learning more about my Finnish and Sami heritage. I am also in a 2 year hospice training program called The Sacred Art of Living and Dying. This is nourising my deeper spiritual self which I have been looking for.

I am looking forward to seeing every one at the reunion. The first part of that week I will be at a resort at the end of the Gunflint Trail with my 2 children (from Edina and Indiana) their respective partners and 3 grand children. It will be a full week.

Sure hope you can make it.
Linda
